Senate registers of Senate bills, 1878-[ongoing].

Senate registers of Senate bills are a record of Senate bills appearing before the Senate within a particular session. The registers contain the Senate bill number, title, and description, the name of the Senate member or members who presented the bill, and what action was taken on the bill. If the bill was passed, the words "signed" or "enrolled and signed" will appear below the bill description. Beginning ca. 1960 an index was placed within each Senate register of Senate bills volume, listing in alphabetical order the names of the Senate members and the bill numbers to be presented in that Senate session. The action taken on each bill is posted almost daily by registry clerks, and this information is recorded below the bill description. Beginning ca. 1975, if a bill passed both the Senate and the House, then, with certain bills, an act number was assigned and recorded in red ink at the top of the page.

56 cubic ft. (169 volumes).

Plank roads were very popular in Ontario, the U.S. Northeast and U.S. Midwest in the first half of the 19th century. From the guide to the Alabama Legislature petition MSS. 0039., 1849, (W.S.
